HVAC / Plumbing Internship
An internship with Weinkauf is an excellent opportunity to start learning the ropes as it relates to many aspects of HVAC and plumbing. The goal of the Weinkauf internship program is to develop and grow future top talent. Students will be assigned to individuals or teams with multiple ongoing projects, and will be exposed to installation, service, and administration.
Responsibilities:
- This position works as part of the team to provide quality customer service on residential and commercial plumbing & HVAC equipment.
- Assist with the inspection, repair, installation, modification, and maintenance of HVAC and plumbing equipment in heating, water, and drainage systems.
- Learn and use a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office products and Foundation.
- Learn product standards to maintain and improve quality and comply with industry requirements.
- Maintains job files with appropriate items such as drawings, parts lists, quotations, purchase orders, technical literature, and correspondence.
- Demonstrate an understanding of and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.
- Maintain and manage truck inventory and/or job tool boxes in an accurate and orderly manner as well as adhere to vehicle maintenance program guidelines.
Requirements:
- No experience is necessary, however, familiarity with the operation of HVAC systems, controls, and/or plumbing, in general, is helpful.
- Willingness to learn, be curious, ask questions, and desire to pursue certifications and licensure in the industry.
- Valid Driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Physically able to climb ladders, work at high elevations, and lift objects up to 50 pounds.
- Customer service-oriented with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical customers.
- Flexibility in regards to work schedule.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance.
